2025年6月にトルコを旅した時に描き始め、福岡・糸島と栃木・益子で筆を重ねた作品が完成した。
トルコのイスタンブール、アジア側の街、カドキョイ。ボスポラス海峡の対岸、旧市街地に沈む夕陽を眺める。描かずには、奏でずには、いられなかった情景。カモメたちの歌声とギターの音色が聴こえてくる。
Begun while traveling in Turkey in June 2025, and layered with more brushwork in Itoshima, Fukuoka and in Mashiko, Tochigi, this work is now complete.
Kadıköy, a town on the Asian side of Istanbul, Turkey. I watched the sun set over the old city across the Bosphorus. A scene I couldn't help but paint, couldn't help but turn into music. I can still hear the singing of the gulls and the tones of a guitar.
