新緑の季節ですね。鯉のぼりは私の作品の中でとても大切なシリーズです。小さい頃、私は鯉のぼりが空に上がるのがとても楽しみでした。
2021年の今頃、私は絵を描き始めました。初めは抽象画を描いていて、形のある“何か”を自分が描くことは全く想像もしていませんでした。
「ママ、鯉のぼり描いて」
娘の一言で描いた鯉のぼりの絵。この作品は光栄にも、初対面の方にお迎え頂くこととなりました。この絵をお迎え頂いた瞬間、“あ、私はこれを仕事にするんだ”と画家になる覚悟が決まった気がします。
小さい頃から大好きだった鯉のぼりと、娘の小さな一言、そしてお迎えくださったお客様が私を画家にしてくれました。
Carp streamers are my cherished works of art. When I was a child, I always looked forward to seeing the carp streamers flying in the sky during the fresh green season.
Around this time in 2021, I started painting. It wasn't until my daughter asked me to draw a carp streamer that I began depicting specific motifs. And this painting was also the first artwork I ever sold to someone I had just met for the first time.
“Mom, draw a carp streamer for me.”
The moment my painting sold to a stranger for the first time, I made up my mind to pursue this as a career.
The beloved carp streamers of my childhood, along with my daughter's simple request, and the person who welcomed my art into their lives, all played a part in making me the painter I am today.
